MBS ANSWERS

If a specialist refers a patient to a radiation oncologist and the treatment guidelines indicate the relevant course of treatment should last longer than 3 months, can the referral still be used for billing after 3 months from the first attendance?

Context

I have a named referral to radiation oncology from another specialist. Due to treatment guidelines, it takes longer than 3 months from the initial consult to complete the course of radiation oncology. Can I use the named referral for billing past its expiration date as it is one course of treatment and took longer than 3 months due to treatment guidelines?
