MBS ANSWERS

I typically bill item 116 for all follow-ups on my ward round. Ten patients takes about 20-30 minutes. There’s no minimum time for item 116 so is a few minutes per patient ok?

Context

I'm a physician and have admitted private patients. I typically bill item 116 for all follow-ups on my ward round. Ten patients takes about 20-30 minutes. I check their medications  and any results and how they are going generally. I just wanted to check that item 116 is the right item to bill because I only take a few minutes per patient. Should I use item 119 instead? I know of a colleague who uses that item. But item 116 is not time related, so presumably time is not a factor?
