MBS ANSWERS

Can either item 47361 or 47387 be validly billed for an isolated distal-end fracture treated by cast immobilisation?

Context

Items 47361 and 47387 both describe treatment of a fracture of the radius and/or ulna by cast immobilisation, but their anatomical scope overlaps in the wording - 47361 is limited to the "distal end," while 47387 covers "distal OR shaft."

Given that 47387's descriptor already encompasses the anatomical scope of 47361, can either item be validly billed for an isolated distal-end fracture treated by cast immobilisation?
